The big Q: When's the bloody thing going back together???
A: In progress
Loads of new photos due shortly...
Air filter and pipes out, brake pipes cut, throttle cable ready to be removed
Lower 3 plugs connect to chassis harnesses, top one is the engine harness
Other harness goes to starter solenoid (via white plug) and first glow plug (others are daisy chained off the first)
Disconnecting main live wire that comes up from starter motor to feed everything else via this fuse box next to the heater
Radiator, oil cooler and turbo intercooler all removed

Task |
Shopping list notes |
|
Drive vehicle onto 2" blocks Note: This provides clearance for your nose between the car creeper and lowest parts of the chassis when crawling around Oz-bound. It also ensures the chassis has a couple of inches to drop when pulled out which helps ensure the front suspension turrets will clear the front wings, assuming 2.4m posts are used for the A-frame. |

|
Cut 3 x brake pipes near brake master cylinder and crimp to seal off |
Brake pipes & hoses |
|
Disconnect brake vacuum hose from engine and seal end of pipe |
|
|
Cut clutch hydraulic flexible hose Note: it would have been easier to have just removed the clutch actuator from the clutch housing and retained with the body, thus saving the refilling and bleeding later. However, plan was to replace all hoses anyway, so easier to cut it here, rather than fiddle around with actuator bolts |
